Carson Valley Quilt Guild Donates Handmade Quilt to First Baby Born on National Quilting Day
To commemorate National Quilting Day Saturday, March 19, 2022 The Carson Valley Quilt Guild worked together to create a handmade quilt, special for the first baby born that day at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. Newborn baby boy Luke Cooley, born at 2:09 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. and 13 oz. was the lucky recipient of the multi-colored quilt. Luke’s parents, Kassidy and Kelly Cooley, were happy to receive the basket and are enjoying embracing their little one in the handmade blanket. The Carson Valley Quilt Guild comprised of about 125 members, celebrated National Quilting Day in a number of ways including the traditional “bed turning” at the Museum in Gardnerville.
