Carson Tahoe Health is pleased to welcome Tarra Becher, M.D., a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, to our behavioral health team.
Dr. Becher is board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent mental health. Born in Hawaii, she moved to Reno in early childhood and has made Nevada her home. She completed her medical school, residency and fellowship at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, where she served a Chief Fellow for two consecutive years – all while starting her family and raising four children. Known for her compassion, creativity, and kindness, Dr. Becher was honored with the Grant Miller, M.D. Award in both 2023 and 2024 for outstanding psychiatric care.
Her clinical experience includes treating children and adolescents ages 3-17 with conditions such as ADHD, OCD, trauma-related disorders, depression, anxiety, and autism. Dr. Becher helps develop comprehensive, collaborative treatment plans that involve both family and therapists. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and she is passionate about supporting young people and their families in thriving at every stage of development.
Outside of work, Dr. Becher is all about fun, family, and making the most of every season. In the summer, she’s in her element—tending the garden, soaking up lake days, and flying down waterpark slides. When winter arrives, she switches to snow-day adventures, cozy kitchen baking, and creative craft projects. She’s always exploring new recipes, new ideas, and anything that sparks joy and creativity.
