Prestige and Carson Tahoe Health Join to Bring Quality Senior Care to the Region
Comprehensive memory care and other senior care services will be added to the Carson Tahoe Health System.
Prestige Care, Inc., and Prestige Senior Living L.L.C., leaders in exceptional senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, today announced that they are making plans to join with Carson Tahoe Health to expand quality senior care services and offer comprehensive memory care to Carson City residents and their families. As a first step in the relationship, the organizations will develop a community with 40 units for memory care services on the Carson Tahoe Specialty Medical Center campus. Construction will begin in 2014.
Together, Prestige and Carson Tahoe will offer an expanding continuum of care that focuses on enriching seniors’ lives with compassionate and high-quality care. The new memory care unit will offer Prestige’s award-winning memory care program, Expressions, along with Carson Tahoe’s clinical expertise to give residents the best care continuum possible.
“Our commitment to personally touching the lives of each person in our family of care communities is strengthened through this partnership,” said Harold Delamarter, Prestige president and CEO. “It is a privilege to do this work, and we are fortunate to have found such a great partner in Carson Tahoe Health that shares our values-based approach to care.”
Carson Tahoe Health encompasses three hospitals, two urgent care facilities and several medical support facilities. This comprehensive network offers 22 locations in Carson City, Douglas County, Reno, Dayton, South Lake Tahoe, Yerington and beyond. Services include a fully accredited cancer center, 234 licensed beds and an acute care regional medical center. Carson Tahoe Health provides a complete continuum of care from wellness, diagnostics, treatment, surgery, after-care and support to northern Nevada and eastern California.
Consumer Reports has recognized Carson Tahoe Health’s Sierra Surgery Hospital as the No. 1 hospital for surgical care in Nevada. In addition, Sierra Surgery Hospital was also awarded the HealthInsight 2013 Hospital Quality Award.
“We are incredibly pleased with this new partnership and look forward to welcoming Prestige to the Carson City campus in the coming year,” said Ed Epperson, Carson Tahoe’s president and CEO. “Their experience in memory care and our commitment to the community as the top provider of expert medical care will now allow us to serve residents through a full continuum of care.”
Prestige’s Expressions memory care program is a life-affirming, activity-rich residential program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia who seek community-based care to help alleviate the effects of the disease for themselves and their families. The program’s person-centered approach to care, based on knowing each person’s life story, combined with integrated and individualized programming and experiences for each resident, earned Prestige the 2012 Innovators Award from the International Council on Active Aging.
Prestige’s philosophy is rooted in a set of shared core values that deliver on a promise to provide exceptional care, guided by a compassionate heart. Across the company, Prestige team members are guided by the four pillars of the company’s values: respect, integrity, commitment and trust.
The new partnership will enable Prestige to share its comprehensive memory care program with Nevada residents and expand on its growing family of more than 80 senior care communities.
