Working with family at Carson Tahoe Health means Valentine’s Day isn’t just about flowers and chocolates, it’s about the people who stand beside you every day. In healthcare, teamwork matters. And sometimes, that teammate is more than a colleague, it’s your spouse, your sibling, your child, or your lifelong best friend. Building a career alongside the people you care about most creates something special, a workplace rooted in trust, pride, and shared purpose.
The Kanter family is a perfect example. Joseph Kanter, BHS Lead Safety Educator, has dedicated 18 years to Carson Tahoe Health. His wife, Kelly Kanter, Lead Physical Therapist in the Carson Outpatient Office, has spent 20 years serving our community. Their commitment to healthcare extends beyond their own careers. For example, their son Ian, a former Physical Therapy Aide at Carson Tahoe, is now pursuing dual Master’s degrees as a Physician Assistant and in Public Health. Following in his brother’s footsteps, their younger son, Ethan, worked as a Physical Therapy Aide and is now completing prerequisites to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant as well. With a family legacy that includes a surgeon grandfather and a psychologist uncle, the medical profession has long been woven into the Kanter family story.
To say Joseph and Kelly are proud would be an understatement. The Kanters are proud not only of their children’s path into medicine, but also of being part of the Carson Tahoe family themselves. This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate families like theirs, who show that when you work with your people, you build more than a career, you build a legacy. And if you’re looking to join a team that feels like family, we invite you to attend our On-Site Hiring Event on February 26 and find your people right here at Carson Tahoe Health.
