Carson Tahoe Health Honored for Excellence in Organ Donation Advocacy

At Donor Network West’s 2025 Champion of Hope Appreciation Awards, two Carson Tahoe Health leaders were honored for their exceptional contributions to organ, eye, and tissue donation:

  • Jillian Arevalo, ICU ManagerLegacy Builder Award
    Recognized for outstanding leadership in supporting donation efforts and fostering a culture that honors donor patients and their families.
  • Jordan Beck, ICU Charge NurseGuardian Award
    Honored for compassion, dedication, and advocacy in caring for donor families and helping facilitate life-saving and healing gifts.

Carson Tahoe Health also received a national DoNation award from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), recognizing its hospital team’s commitment to promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation and increasing donor registrations.


What Donor Network West Is

Donor Network West is the federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for northern Nevada and northern California.
It is responsible for:

  • Facilitating organ and tissue recovery for transplantation and research
  • Coordinating with hospitals, donor families, and transplant centers
  • Supporting donor registration through partnerships with DMVs and state registries
  • Promoting public awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation

Founded in 1987, it is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks and serves 45 counties across the region. Its mission is to save and heal lives by making the gift of donation possible.
