Showing Comradery – Carson Tahoe Health Celebrates First Survivor’s Day Post-Pandemic

For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, Carson Tahoe Health’s Cancer Center hosted an event to honor and celebrate cancer survivors. Sunday, June 5th marked a day full of activities, drawing community together in support of the 35th annual National Cancer Survivors Day, recognized the first Sunday of each June.   The goal of the event is to commemorate cancer survivors and those who have supported loved ones in the fight. This, as well as inspire those with a recent diagnosis, gather support for families, and offer outreach to the community.   Sunday’s event drew nearly 170 people from all over the Quad County area to the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Center. Carson Valley Quilt Guild Donates Handmade Quilt to First Baby Born on National Quilting Day

To commemorate National Quilting Day Saturday, March 19, 2022 The Carson Valley Quilt Guild worked together to create a handmade quilt, special for the first baby born that day at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. Newborn baby boy Luke Cooley, born at 2:09 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. and 13 oz. was the lucky recipient of the multi-colored quilt. Luke’s parents, Kassidy and Kelly Cooley, were happy to receive the basket and are enjoying embracing their little one in the handmade blanket.   The Carson Valley Quilt Guild comprised of about 125 members, celebrated National Quilting Day in a number of ways including the traditional “bed turning” at the Museum in Gardnerville. Carson Tahoe Health recognized by national organization with top awards for excellence in healthcare

PRC, a leader in the healthcare intelligence space, has awarded Carson Tahoe Health as a 2022 PRC Excellence in Healthcare Award recipient in four categories. Carson Tahoe received 5-Star recognition, top honors from PRC, for facility services in Emergency Department Services, Inpatient ICU Services and Outpatient Surgery Services. In addition, Kathy Goldsworthy, DNP, APRN was also recognized with an overall rating of provider care for Advanced Practice Provider Services. Carson Tahoe Health Receives Chest Pain Accreditation from American College of Cardiology

Wrapping up February as National Heart Health Month by celebrating regional access to heart care. After a review by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in December, Carson Tahoe Regional Health Center (Carson Tahoe) has earned ‘Chest Pain Center’ accreditation by the organization, placing it among the top heart attack centers in the country.
