For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, Carson Tahoe Health’s Cancer Center hosted an event to honor and celebrate cancer survivors. Sunday, June 5th marked a day full of activities, drawing community together in support of the 35th annual National Cancer Survivors Day, recognized the first Sunday of each June. The goal of the event is to commemorate cancer survivors and those who have supported loved ones in the fight. This, as well as inspire those with a recent diagnosis, gather support for families, and offer outreach to the community. To commemorate National Quilting Day Saturday, March 19, 2022 The Carson Valley Quilt Guild worked together to create a handmade quilt, special for the first baby born that day at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. Newborn baby boy Luke Cooley, born at 2:09 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. and 13 oz. was the lucky recipient of the multi-colored quilt. Luke’s parents, Kassidy and Kelly Cooley, were happy to receive the basket and are enjoying embracing their little one in the handmade blanket.
