February marks an important milestone for Healing Our Kids & Community as we launch our first community activations of 2026. For the first time this year, our team is stepping back into the community to connect directly with children and families through education, outreach, and supportive engagement. These activations meet kids where they are. Building emotional resilience, fostering connection, and reinforcing that youth mental health support can exist beyond clinical walls..
This work reflects our continued commitment to youth mental health and well-being across our region. Healing Our Kids creates spaces for learning, play, and open conversation. These efforts help normalize mental health care and give families tools that support long-term wellness. Each activation reflects the belief that early connection, creativity, and community support play a critical role in helping kids thrive.
The Mallory Foundation continues to lead in advancing mental health support at Carson Tahoe Health. As pioneers behind the Mallory Adult Crisis Center, which opened in 2017, their early vision transformed crisis care in our region. Today, they remain at the forefront as the first sponsor of one of Carson Tahoe’s Vehicles of Change—a mobile initiative that will travel across our four quad counties. This initiative delivers play-based prevention programs for children ages 8–12 that nurture resilience, foster connection, and support lifelong mental wellness.
This month, the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and American Century Golf support after-school programming at the Boys & Girls Club in Minden. Their partnership fuels hands-on, play-based activities that nurture resilience, encourage connection, and support emotional well-being. These programs create a safe and engaging space for kids to learn, grow, and build healthy coping skills outside the classroom.
We’re also proud to share that a new Healing Our Kids banner is displayed along Carson Street throughout this week, leading into Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, which begins next week and focuses on belonging and emotional well-being. The banner serves as a visible reminder of our shared responsibility to support children’s mental health. Schools, families, and community organizations all play a role in helping kids feel seen, supported, and connected.
As we kick off our 2026 outreach across our quad counties, we thank the community partners and sponsors who make this work possible.
