Carson Tahoe Health extends heartfelt thanks to our friends at The Carson City Moose Lodge for their generous donation of stuffed moose dolls to our Emergency Department. These cuddly moose bring smiles and comfort to children who visit the ED — offering reassurance during what can be a stressful time. Our nurses also use the moose dolls as a gentle teaching tool, showing little ones what will happen during their care by “treating” the moose first with a bandage or exam. The Moose Lodge visits quarterly and has been a long-standing partner in spreading comfort and compassion to our youngest patients.
We also want to thank St. Vincent’s for their thoughtful donation of warm winter jackets to our ED. These coats, along with gloves and hats, help keep patients warm as they return home — offering an extra layer of care when it’s needed most. St. Vincent’s has been a dedicated partner throughout the year, providing essential clothing items for both our ED and Behavioral Health Services departments.
All clothing donations are organized through Dayleen’s Closet, named in honor of one of our DAISY Award recipients, who recognized the need to provide patients with clothing and shoes before discharge. Her compassion continues to inspire our teams and community partners alike.
Together, we’re reminded that a little comfort — whether it’s a warm coat or a stuffed moose — can make a big difference.
