Carson Tahoe Medical Group (CTMG) is pleased to welcome Pratyaksha Sankhyan, M.D., to our Pulmonology Clinic. She brings extensive experience in pulmonary and critical care medicine, advanced diagnostic procedures and the treatment of complex respiratory conditions.
Dr. Sankhyan joins us from Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine for the past four years. She completed Medical School at Dayanand Medical College in India, an internal medicine residency at East Tennessee State University and a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at East Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center in North Carolina.
Inspired by the complexity of the lungs and respiratory physiology, Dr. Sankhyan is passionate about helping patients breathe easier through compassionate, personalized care. She describes her approach as empathetic, non-judgmental, and efficient, ensuring every patient feels heard and supported throughout their healthcare journey.
In addition to working at the CTMG Pulmonology Clinic, Dr. Sankhyan is also an intensivist with US Acute Care Solutions, the hospitalist group for Carson Tahoe Health.
Outside of work, Dr. Sankhyan enjoys reading, hiking, biking, traveling with a focus on wildlife and ecotourism, and playing badminton and racquetball. One of her most memorable adventures was swimming with orcas and humpback whales in the Arctic Sea during the polar night.
