Whether you are in Reno, Tahoe, or Carson City, we have the ultimate list of where you can take your kids to see Santa Claus.

Reno-Sparks Area

Photos with Santa (November 22nd – December 24th, The Summit Mall, 13925 S Virginia St, Reno) Capture the magic of the season with a professional photo with Santa. Visit Santa’s Workshop near the Christmas Tree at Center Plaza. Check their website for times.

Breakfast With Santa at Skipolini’s (December 8th from 8 – 10 AM, The Summit Mall – 13999 S. Virginia St., Reno) To purchase tickets and for more information, call (775) 852-2200.

Santa at Legends Scheels (every Saturday and Sunday in December from 11 AM – 3PM,1200 Scheels Drive, Sparks) Santa will be at Scheels every Saturday and Sunday in December from 11 AM – 3PM. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras. Bring in your children, and let them tell Santa what they want for Christmas! Free and no registration required. All ages are welcome.

Reading with Mrs. Claus (Saturday December 8th, 11 AM – 2 PM, 1200 Scheels Drive, Sparks) Come join us as Mrs. Claus travels all the way from the North Pole to share some of her favorite children’s books! Mrs. Claus will be reading a new story every 20 minutes between 11AM and 2PM and will be bringing a FREE book for every child in attendance. This is a FREE event to the public and will be located in our Home Decor shop on the first floor.

The Polar Express Storytime With Santa Visit (December 7th at 7 PM, 5555 S. Virginia St, Reno)  Join Barnes and Noble for their annual Polar Express Storytime. The Polar Express story will be read, along with Santa visiting. Kids can come in their PJs too!

Santa Appears at the Lights Of Tanea – The Best Little Christmas Light Show (December 17th, two shows at  6:15 and 7:15 PM, 16180 Tanea Dr, Reno) Santa will visit everyone viewing the Lights of Tanea free light show for one evening only.  It is an outdoor light display, so prepare to take photos in low light situations.

Photos with Santa at Meadowood Mall (Now – December 24th, 5000 Meadowood Mall Circle, Reno) Hours vary depending upon date. See their website for times.

Carson City 

Santa Train Nevada State Railroad Museum (December 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23 Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St., Carson City) Children and their families ride in rail cars pulled behind the historic Virginia and Truckee Railroad No. 25 steam locomotive. On their way around the museum’s track, Santa Claus hands out candy canes to all the riders. Tickets are also available on the day of ride at the Wabuska Depot. $5.00 to ride and children under $2.00 ride for FREE. (*Hint: Santa also shops for rail fans on his list at the museum store that is stocked with railroad books, clothing, toys, and many unique Nevada specialty items!) Visit Santa in an Igloo (December 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23 Storytime Photography 108 W Telegraph) Come visit and get a photo with Santa. Formerly at the Carson Mall. New location, lower prices, same amazing Santa!

Santa at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada (December 15th from 10 AM-noon, 813 N. Carson St., Carson City)  Meet Santa and enjoy the exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. There will also be free art activities from 1 – 3 PM.

Tahoe Area 

Breakfast with Santa at Kahle Community Center (December 8 from 9 – 11 AM, Kahle Community Center) Join Santa for a pancake breakfast with OJ, hot cocoa or coffee, and then get your picture taken with him. Breakfast is $3 and photos are available for an additional cost. 

Virginia City

V & T Railroad Candy Cane Express  (Thursday – Sundays during December)Trains leave the Virginia City Depot at Noon and 2pm. $15 Adult / $7 Child 2-11 / under 2 ride free on parent’s lap. This diesel train ride is an hour long and Includes a keepsake silver bell, hot chocolate & cookies, entertainment and a reading of The Polar Express.

Christmas on the Comstock and Photos with Father Christmas  (Every Saturday in December 11am – 3pm, Virginia City Visitor’s Center – 86 South C St., Virginia City)  Step back in time this holiday season and celebrate Christmas as they did in the 19th century. Historic Virginia City hosts its annual Christmas on the Comstock this December, offering a Victorian-style holiday celebration. There are festivities for all ages ranging from unique boutique holiday shopping, specials, a holiday parade on December 6 and more.  Stop by the Virginia City Visitors Center to meet Father Christmas and create a holiday memory.  Call (775) 847-7500 for more information.
