Community Partners Welcome First Baby Born in 2020

Royce Ponton gave birth to a new baby boy, Leviathan Wayne Ponton at 12:53 AM on Jan. 1, the first baby of 2020 at Carson Tahoe; he also achieved the title of first Northern Nevada baby born in 2020! But, unbeknownst to Royce, she had even more to celebrate! For the first time ever, Western Nevada College (WNC) provided the first New Year baby a full academic scholarship through the college’s foundation. Now, when Leviathan is of age and decides to explore higher education, he will have one less thing to worry about following high school graduation. Carson Tahoe Health’s Emergency Department: Reimagined

Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) is proud to announce the completion of a recent renovation to the emergency department triage area.  The newly designed space maximizes resources for quick care (testing and treatment) and serves as a monitored, internal waiting area. Newly carpeted and furnished, the triage area was completed and opened to patients just last week. Over the past few years, Carson Tahoe Health’s Emergency Department has seen significant and continuous growth in their volume of patients. In 2016, the CTH team saw a little over 37,000 visits and that number has steadily increased each year. “This year we anticipate over 43,000 visits and we want to be ready to provide efficient, high quality, patient-pleasing care to our community whenever …


Carson Tahoe Kicks Off 2017 Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

  Carson Tahoe Health will celebrate its 16th annual Think Pink breast cancer awareness campaign on Monday, October 2. Red’s Old 395 Grill will once again host the event from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. in Carson City. The event is free to attend and individuals wearing a Carson Tahoe Think Pink T-shirt (any year) will receive free appetizers courtesy of Red’s. T-shirts can be purchased for a $10 suggested donation at various locations and at the event. 100% of proceeds from all Think Pink T-shirts, specialty drinks, and raffle sales will go to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center for breast cancer education and support. “Statistics show that one in eight women will develop breast cancer within their lifetime,” said Michelle …
