Carson Tahoe Health is proud to announce that Dr. Verena Samara has been appointed to serve on Nevada’s Rare Disease Advisory Council. This prestigious appointment, effective October 1, 2024, marks an important milestone in Dr. Samara’s dedication to improving healthcare for those living with rare diseases. Her role on the council will extend through September 30, 2027.
The Rare Disease Advisory Council, established under Nevada law (NRS 439.5075), is a collaborative body focused on enhancing the quality of care and resources available to patients affected by rare diseases. Dr. Samara’s selection reflects her expertise and passion for patient-centered care. With her experience in providing compassionate, high-quality care across various specialties, Dr. Samara will offer a vital perspective to the council, representing the needs of patients and families dealing with complex, often underrepresented health conditions.
“I am excited for the opportunity to serve on Nevada’s Rare Disease Advisory Council (RDAC). As a neuromuscular neurologist I take care of patients with rare diseases on a daily basis and being an RDAC council member is a wonderful opportunity to advocate for patients with rare diseases on a higher level.” said Dr. Verena Samara.
