Welcome Dr. Alexandra Kurek to Carson Tahoe Health

Carson Tahoe Health is excited to welcome Alexandra “Alex” Kurek, MD, to our Primary Care team at Eagle Medical Center. Dr. Kurek is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and provides preventive, acute and chronic care for patients ages 12 and older.

Dr. Kurek earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at the University of Nevada, Reno before completing her Doctor of Medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. She went on to complete her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

When asked why she chose family medicine, Dr. Kurek shared, “I enjoy the variety it offers and the opportunity to care for patients across all stages of life. I value being able to support entire families and build lasting connections with them over time.” She has a particular passion for preventive care, helping patients stay healthy and addressing concerns early through proactive wellness.

Her approach to patient care is collaborative and personalized. She enjoys working alongside patients, blending her medical expertise with their individual goals and preferences to find the best path forward. She also emphasizes the importance of healthy habits and early interventions as part of long-term wellness.

Outside of work, Dr. Kurek enjoys spending quality time with her family, staying active through weightlifting, yoga, and Pilates, and exploring her interest in nutrition and healthy cooking. In addition, she is fluent in Romanian and conversational in Spanish, helping her connect with a wider range of patients.
