The Year that Was … Looking Back on 2015

As we put 2015 in the rear-view mirror, we’d like to celebrate our favorite achievements from the last year.

New Partnerships & Collaborations:

  • Expanded cancer services, and renamed the cancer center to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, an Affiliate of Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah
  • Partnered with local health entities to support the Sierra Pediatric Blood & Cancer Consortium
  • Established comprehensive Population Health Management Program in collaboration with our local health partners
  • SART established in partnership with community stakeholders
  • Participated in and supported Each One. Tell One. to raise awareness community-wide of dense breast tissue
  • Partnering with Carson City Health & Human Services for Community Health Needs Assessment

Community Sponsorships & Outreach:

  • Our new “CTH Rocks” team supports and participates in community events, including the Rock Tahoe Half Marathon
  • Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum – Became the official sponsor of the From the Heart, About the Heart Exhibit
  • Created Jack L. Davis scholarships, an annual recurring scholarship for science students attending Western Nevada College

  • Sword & Shield Enterprise Security HIPPA Compliance Program – Earned the highest possible security rating for electronic patient health information
  • Carson Tahoe Sierra Surgery – Earned 2015 HealthInsight Award for High Performance in Quality Care Measures and Patient Satisfaction
  • Achieved “Meaningful Use” (Patient Portal)/ICD-10 implementation
  • Raised record-high $120,000 at HopeFest in support of local cancer patients in need and no-cost Merriner Cottage lodging
