Honoring Carson Tahoe’s Employee Donors: July Spotlight

At Carson Tahoe, generosity and compassion are woven into everything we do. Many of our employees take their commitment to the next level by giving back to the Carson Tahoe Foundation, further enhancing the support and care we provide to our community.

This month, we’re excited to feature two remarkable team members, Donna Shiffer and Katrina Penman, who embody the spirit of giving and inspire us all to make a difference.

Donna Shiffer, RN, OCN

Cancer Center, Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC)

Donna’s personal and professional experiences fuel her dedication as an Employee Donor. Since 2024, she has directed her contributions to the Cancer Resource Center, ensuring patients and their families receive the support they need throughout their cancer journey. Donna shares:

“I give to the Resource Center for two reasons: first, because of the needs of my patient population; second, because my sister is a cancer survivor who was treated at this facility. When she was a patient, I saw first-hand how cancer affects every area of your life. Having resources for our patients is important for them to be supported throughout their cancer journey.”

Donna’s passion for her work and her personal connection to the Cancer Resource Center highlight the importance of accessible resources for those facing life-changing diagnoses.

Katrina Penman

System/RAC Support Specialist

Katrina has been an Employee Donor since 2017, contributing to the Area of Greatest Need to help address the most pressing challenges facing our patients. For Katrina, giving back is about being part of something greater. She explains:

“I know the importance of our organization’s work to help those in greatest need. I give because I enjoy being part of something bigger than myself that makes a difference.”

Through her contributions, Katrina helps ensure that no patient or family is left behind, enabling Carson Tahoe to provide critical resources when and where they are needed most.
