Carson Tahoe Health congratulates Whitney May, Director of Clinical Informatics and a primary care physician assistant, on receiving a 2026 Healthcare Champion Award. The recognition honors her work improving electronic medical record systems and strengthening collaboration with University of Utah Health.
Connecting Technology and Patient Care
University of Utah Health hosts Carson Tahoe’s electronic medical record system, Epic. May serves as the primary point of contact for Carson Tahoe’s integrated EMR systems, helping adapt changes from a large academic health system to the needs of a community hospital.
She works closely with University of Utah teams and Carson Tahoe providers to resolve challenges, improve clinical workflows and coordinate implementation. Her leadership has brought clearer planning and communication to system changes, supporting the physicians and staff who use the technology every day.
The partnership also connects Carson Tahoe patients with University of Utah Health’s medical expertise through its clinical affiliation. May’s work helps translate that relationship into practical support for care delivered locally.
Leadership With the Community in Mind
May continues to see primary care patients alongside her informatics responsibilities, keeping her connected to the patient experience. She credits her team for the achievement and describes her approach simply: “Keep asking the questions.”
Congratulations, Whitney, and thank you for helping our teams navigate the technology behind patient care.
