Dr. David Baker Named Among Becker’s 2026 Chief Medical Officers to Know

Carson Tahoe Health Vice President and Chief Medical Officer David Baker, MD, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2026 list of “252 Hospital and Health System Chief Medical Officers to Know.”

Becker’s Hospital Review is a national healthcare publication covering hospital and health system leadership, strategy, clinical care and industry trends.

Becker’s recognition highlights physician executives who are advancing clinical quality, strengthening medical teams and helping healthcare organizations respond to the changing needs of patients.

Dr. Baker’s leadership at Carson Tahoe is grounded in years of caring for patients in Northern Nevada. Before becoming Chief Medical Officer in 2022, he served as a cardiologist, Medical Director of Carson Tahoe Medical Group and Chief of Cardiology.That progression from practicing physician to executive leader gives him a firsthand perspective on the connection between clinical decision-making, provider support and the patient experience.

Becker’s highlighted Dr. Baker’s role in guiding the growth of Carson Tahoe Medical Group, strengthening collaboration and advancing patient care.Since stepping into the Chief Medical Officer role, he has helped streamline services and supported the addition of 23 providers, expanding access to care across the region.

His leadership has also extended to the next generation of healthcare professionals.Through his previous service as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Baker shared his clinical knowledge and experience with future providers.
