February is American Heart Month, and at Carson Tahoe Health, it’s a time to focus on prevention, education, and accessible heart care for our community. Throughout the month, we’re hosting screenings, educational events, and awareness activities designed to help people better understand their heart health and take proactive steps toward lifelong wellness.
Today, heart disease remains one of the leading health concerns nationwide, but early detection and informed choices can make a powerful difference. That’s why Heart Month at Carson Tahoe Health is centered on bringing important resources directly to the communities we serve.
Heart Smart Screenings: Prevention Made Simple
As part of Heart Month, HeartSmart screenings are one of our cornerstone offerings—focused on prevention, awareness, and early detection. This comprehensive screening includes a bilateral carotid ultrasound, aortic ultrasound, EKG, and ankle-brachial index score that looks at heart rhythm, blood flow, and circulation.
HeartSmart screenings include several quick, non-invasive checks that look at heart rhythm, blood flow, and circulation. As a result, all results are reviewed by a cardiologist, and participants are contacted if follow-up is recommended.
HeartSmart screenings are $75 for individuals who want to be proactive about their heart health or better understand their risk factors. Appointments are required.
