Carson Tahoe Health’s very own Janelle Hoover has been nominated for the Record-Courier Remarkable Women Award, and it’s easy to see why. A dedicated leader, mentor, and volunteer, Janelle has spent her life making a profound impact on the community, both within and beyond the healthcare setting.
As Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Carson Tahoe Health, Janelle leads critical nursing initiatives, including overseeing inpatient and crisis behavioral health services. Her commitment to expanding adolescent care and ensuring quality patient experiences speaks to her dedication to the well-being of others. Known for her hands-on approach, she never hesitates to step into action, whether it’s mentoring her team, advocating for patients, or supporting her staff at all hours of the day.
Beyond healthcare, Janelle’s heart for service extends throughout the Carson Valley. As President of the Carson Valley Little League from 2021 to 2025, she has been instrumental in providing children with opportunities to grow through sports. Whether coordinating team travel, supporting high school booster club initiatives, or ensuring every athlete receives the recognition they deserve, she continuously goes the extra mile for local youth.
Janelle’s generosity also shines during the holiday season, where she and her husband, Greg, organize a secret Santa initiative to bring joy to families in need. Their efforts include delivering surprise gifts, treats, and heartfelt messages, embodying the true spirit of giving. Additionally, they have opened their home to foster children, offering care and stability to those in need.
Her kindness isn’t limited to people—Janelle is also an advocate for animals, fostering over 10 rescue dogs in recent years and helping place them in loving homes.
