Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center with American Heart Association Gold Plus stroke care award badge

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association with the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus achievement, along with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll distinctions.

The 2026 awards recognize Carson Tahoe’s commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based stroke care and are based on performance data submitted from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025.

The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program recognizes hospitals that consistently follow the latest clinical guidelines to improve outcomes for patients experiencing a stroke. These nationally recognized standards help ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care when every minute matters.

The Gold Plus achievement reflects Carson Tahoe’s sustained commitment to meeting rigorous quality measures for stroke treatment. The Target: Stroke Honor Roll recognizes efforts to reduce treatment times for eligible stroke patients, while the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll highlights excellence in caring for stroke patients living with Type 2 diabetes.

This national recognition reflects the dedication and collaboration of Carson Tahoe’s multidisciplinary stroke team, including emergency medical professionals, physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff who work together to provide exceptional care from the moment a patient arrives.

Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability and one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Recognizing the warning signs and seeking emergency medical care immediately can significantly improve outcomes.
